Dr. Yusuf Mohamed Janahi holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Bradford, UK (2016), specializing in factors affecting the adoption of internet banking and overcoming barriers through biometrics. He also earned an MSc in Computer Science (Computer-Based Information Systems) from the University of Sunderland, UK (2002).
With over 30 years of experience in academia, industry, and consultancy, Dr. Janahi has held key roles such as Acting Dean of Graduate Studies and Research and Assistant Dean for Admissions and Registration. He has been an Assistant Professor, teaching diverse topics including Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems, and Programming Languages, while supervising undergraduate and graduate research.
Dr. Janahi’s professional career spans significant contributions to the financial and academic sectors. He served as Assistant General Manger of IT at major financial institutions in the GCC, such as Bank Nizwa (Oman), Ibdar Bank, and Elaf Bank, where he spearheaded digital transformation initiatives, introduced FinTech solutions, and developed robust IT and disaster recovery frameworks. His leadership has been instrumental in launching pioneering services like instant debit card issuance and digital banking platforms.
A recognized researcher, Dr. Janahi has published in Scopus-indexed journals and international conferences, focusing on emerging technologies in education, biometrics, and digital transformation. His publications have addressed critical challenges in internet banking, industrial IoT in education, and e-banking security systems.
Dr. Janahi’s expertise includes strategic planning, IT governance, cybersecurity, and quality assurance in education and industry. He is committed to integrating technology with innovative practices to enhance organizational effectiveness and ensure sustainable growth.
